New Fisker Ocean Sport washes up in the UK: £36k for a 288-mile range

American EV startup Fisker has just launched its entry-level Ocean SUV in the UK, with a range of up to 288 miles

Fisker Ocean Sport

The entry-level Fisker Ocean has landed on UK shores, with the electric family SUV now on sale from just £36,900 – only £400 more than a Peugeot E-2008.

Already being sold in the UK in top-spec Extreme form, the new base Fisker Ocean Sport is capable of a much more modest 288 miles on a single charge compared to the range-topper which is supposedly capable of up to 440 miles. It is nevertheless competitive with rivals such as the Kia Niro EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Powering the Ocean Sport is a front-mounted electric motor that produces 271bhp; Fisker says it’ll do 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds, which is quite a bit quicker than a similarly-priced Jeep Avenger. That being said, it’s not even close to what’s possible in the flagship Fisker Ocean Extreme which, thanks to a 542bhp dual-motor setup, will reach the 62mph benchmark in just 3.9 seconds.

As standard, all Fisker Ocean Sport models get a huge 17.1-inch portrait touchscreen, as well as sustainable fabric upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a full-length panoramic sunroof, a powered bootlid, blind spot monitoring and a reversing camera which is displayed via a digital rear-view mirror.

Highly-specified Fisker Ocean Ultra and Extreme models get extra goodies such as a revolving touchscreen, heated seats and solar panels on the roof, as well as more power and range. They’re significantly more expensive, though, starting from £50,900 and £57,900 respectively.

As mentioned, the Fisker Ocean Sport is on sale now in the UK, with first deliveries expected to arrive sometime in 2024.
