New Vauxhall Mokka Electric Griffin model delivers £7,000 price cut

The Vauxhall Mokka Electric drops under the £30,000 price barrier with the new Griffin trim level

Vauxhall Mokka Electric Griffin Edition

Vauxhall has unveiled the latest addition to the Mokka EV lineup with the introduction of the Mokka Electric Griffin. Priced at £29,495, the Mokka Electric Griffin offers a saving of £7,115 compared to the existing Design trim level. It’s a similar trick to the one Vauxhall just pulled with the Corsa Electric YES Edition, which delivered a £5,500 price reduction on the standard Corsa Electric, starting at £26,895.

Vauxhall Mokka Electric Griffin owners don’t need to worry that a lower cost will mean sacrifices in the looks department. A contrasting black roof, tinted rear windows, 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights with high-beam assist all feature on the vehicle.

Inside, drivers will find a seven-inch central touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the Vauxhall Connect app system for remote scheduling of charging and cabin temperature adjustment. Safety features include lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, cruise control, and emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Other features standard on the Mokka Electric include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and automatic climate control.

Vauxhall has used the same 50kWh battery used on many of Stellantis Group cars such as the Peugeot E-2008 while the Mokka Electric Griffin also has a 134bhp front-mounted electric motor, delivering a quoted range of up to 209 miles. Charging-wise there’s the ability to reach 80% charge in just 30 minutes using a 100kW charger.

Mokka Electric Griffin owners will also receive one year's free charging credit at select Tesco charging stations, which gives free access to 2,700 charging bays across the Tesco network. It is worth noting that the credit is based on 5,900 miles a year, so if you do 12,000 miles a year this would only mean 6 months worth of charging.

Orders for the Mokka Electric Griffin open on April 17th, with the first UK deliveries starting in June.
