EV Deal of the Day: Dacia Spring is amazingly good value at £116 per month

Looking for a budget-friendly EV? The compact Dacia Spring could be the perfect city car, and it’s available from just £29 per week

Dacia Spring
  • Low running costs
  • Easy to drive
  • 140-mile range

The Dacia Spring is the first EV from the value-driven manufacturer, and offers an interesting option for those seeking an affordable and compact electric car. Beyond the benefits of its attractive pricing and low running costs, the Spring is surprisingly practical and perfect for urban driving. If you're in the market for a city runabout or a convenient second car, Dacia's latest offering is certainly worth a closer look.

This attractive three-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) offer from Willow Leasing via Carwow requires an initial payment of £1,685.08, followed by remarkably low monthly instalments of just £115.59. And, if you’re mainly using the Spring for local trips or as a secondary vehicle, the 5,000-mile annual limit should comfortably meet your needs.

Despite its budget-friendly nature, the entry Expression specification is still well equipped, and includes rear parking sensors, air-conditioning and cruise control. Instead of the usual infotainment screen, it features a practical smartphone-mounting point, along with a modern seven-inch digital instrument panel. Crucially, there’s a suite of standard active safety systems too, such as emergency braking assist, lane-keep assist and traffic-sign recognition.

The Spring offers decent passenger space for up to four adults, with the only slight compromise being somewhat limited rear legroom. As previously mentioned, overall practicality is good, with Isofix points on the two rear seats and a surprisingly spacious 308-litre boot – by way of basic comparison, a Vauxhall Corsa supermini has a 309-litre load capacity.

With a 140-mile range, the Spring is well suited to in-town commutes and running basic errands, although we’d definitely recommend investing in a home charging set-up if you can - it’ll allow you to recharge a fully depleted battery to 100 per cent in approximately five hours, and means you can take advantage of various low-tariff deals from energy suppliers.
