Special-edition Disney Fiat Topolino is what you get when you wish upon a car
Five very special versions of the Fiat Topolino have been created to celebrate 100 years of Disney
Fiat has decided to team up with the Walt Disney Company, which is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2023, to produce five special-edition versions of the Topolino electric quadricycle.
‘Topolino’ is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse and each of the five bespoke Fiat Topolino models features a different artwork of the world’s most recognisable rodent.
The Fiat Topolino is essentially a rebadged version of the Citroen Ami; as mentioned it’s an electric quadricycle with a range of up to 46 miles. Expected to start from around £8,000 when it goes on sale in the UK, the Topolino will be one of the cheapest ways into electric motoring, although due to its status as a quadricycle, it isn’t allowed on motorways.
Unfortunately for Disney fans out there, none of the quintet of Disney Fiat Topolinos will be for sale; instead, all five will be displayed at the Fiat’s headquarters in Turin.
Boss of Disney’s operations in Italy, Daniel Frigo, said: “At Disney we are incredibly proud to be part of the culture and amazing creativity of Italy. This love for Italy has inspired us to forge a relationship based on respect and trust with both Italians, as well as FIAT.”
“We are truly honoured to be able to celebrate our 100th anniversary with this magical moment that brings FIAT and Topolino together once again, in the spirit of creativity and the bond of friendship.”
This is not the first time Disney has partnered with a car manufacturer, of course; earlier this year the entertainment giant teamed up with Hyundai to launch a special one-off version of the Ioniq 5, which included headlights lined with pixie dust, as well as special Disney 100 platinum paintwork.
