EV Deal of the Day: practical Vauxhall Grandland Electric for only £199 per month

The Vauxhall Grandland Electric is a decent family SUV, offering plenty of space and a usable range

Vauxhall Grandland Electric
  • Good level of standard kit
  • Spacious interior
  • Great all-electric range

The Vauxhall Grandland Electric is perfectly set up for family car buyers because it has plenty of passenger room, lots of standard equipment, and an impressive EV range. Ok, it’s not the most fun car to drive, but the Grandland trades driving dynamism for plenty of comfort and a more practical approach, which is definitely more useful when tackling the school run, or undertaking a longer road trip.

This particular deal is a two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) offer from VIP Gateway, through Carwow, requires an initial payment of £2,686.07, followed by monthly instalments of just £198.84. There’s a 5,000-mile annual limit, so you’ll need to make sure that’s enough for all your daily driving.

Offered in mid-range GS specification, the Grandland Electric features 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control, plus there’s a heating function for the front seats and steering wheel, along with wireless smartphone charging and a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen.

The Grandland’s 73kWh battery and single electric motor generate a total of 210bhp and 345Nm of instantly available torque, with 0-62mph taking exactly nine seconds. Vauxhall claims you’ll be able to achieve up to 325 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, across a mixture of roads, while topping up the battery from 10 to 80 per cent at a rapid public charger should take around half an hour.

Although its interior does feel a little cheap in places, the Grandland counters with a practical 550-litre boot and lots of interior storage options to help take care of the day-to-day. It’s a good all-round package, particularly at less than £200 per month.
