EV Deal of the Day: user-friendly Volkswagen ID.3 for £195 per month

The Volkswagen ID.3 has benefited from useful updates that make it easier to recommend than ever, and at this low price it’s our Deal of the Day

Volkswagen ID.3 - dynamic
  • Good interior space
  • Practical range
  • Decent level of standard kit

If you’re looking at making the move to an all-electric car, then the Volkswagen ID.3 is a great starting point. It’s easy to drive, with simple intuitive controls, plus it offers impressive practicality for a relatively small five-door hatchback (it’s 20mm shorter than a Volkswagen Golf) and comes with plenty of range.

Updates to the ID.3’s infotainment system in 2024 have addressed some of our previous gripes; the infotainment display isn’t so laggy and the touch-sensitive slider controls are now backlit, which makes them easier to use at night. Volkswagen has evolved the ID.3 into a thoroughly decent all-electric hatch, and at this sub-£200 monthly price it has to be worth considering.

We’ve spotted a two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) offer from Select Car Leasing through Carwow, which requires an initial payment of £2,638.80, followed by monthly instalments of just £195.40. There’s a 5,000-mile annual limit, so you’ll need to make sure that’s enough for all your daily driving.

This particular deal features an ID.3 model in Pure Match specification, which features an impressive level of kit; 18-inch alloys, LED headlights, rear privacy glass, adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking sensors all come as standard. Other, more premium touches include heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, 10-colour ambient lighting, and a 12.9-inch central screen that runs VW’s Discover Pro navigation system.

The ID.3’s 52kWh battery and single electric motor produce 168bhp, so there’s more than enough shove for most tastes. 0-62mph takes 8.2 seconds, and as with most EVs you’ll appreciate the initial zip off the line.

Volkswagen claims that you should see an average range of 240 miles (WLTP) across a mixture of roads, while a maximum 145kW charging rate means you’ll only need about 26 minutes to replenish the battery from 10 to 80 per cent.

All of our EV Deal of the Day choices are chosen from the providers on our parent site Carwow. Our experts choose the best deals on cars we’re happy to recommend.
