EV Deal of the Day: award-winning BMW i4 for £300 a month

The BMW i4 is a deeply impressive, premium EV – refined, well built and great to drive

  • Impressive tech
  • Great build quality
  • Engaging drive

Sometimes a car comes along that’s just really easy to recommend, and the BMW i4 certainly falls into that category. Launched at the tail end of 2021, against a backdrop of rapid change and more than a little confusion on how to tackle the transition to all-electric power, it was immediately clear that the engineers in Munich had remained resolutely focused – the i4 oozed quality, came full of the latest technology and, of course, was great to drive.

We named it our Best Electric Company Car in 2022, taking into account all of the above attributes, plus its strong performance, user-friendly interior and low running costs. The awards didn’t stop there, with our sister title Auto Express naming the i4 its Premium Electric Car of the Year in 2022 and 2023. Downsides? Well, we think it’s a touch expensive compared with rivals (something this deal goes some way to addressing), and space in the rear is a little tight, but if you think of the i4 as an all-electric BMW 3 Series, then you won’t go far wrong.

This two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) deal is from VIPGateway Leasing through Carwow, requiring an initial deposit of £3,902.02, followed by monthly payments of £300.25. There is a 5,000-mile annual restriction in place, so make sure that’s sufficient for your needs, otherwise you may have to pay to cover any excess mileage charges at the end of the deal.

Offered in entry Sport specification, this particular i4 features 17-inch alloys, LED headlights, an automatic tailgate, a reversing camera, BMW’s Park Distance Control system, three-zone climate control, sports seats and a curved infotainment display with integrated navigation.

A 70kWh battery and single electric motor provide a total power output of 282bhp, which allows this eDrive35 model to reach 0-62mph in six seconds flat. BMW claims a combined electric range (WLTP) of up to 308 miles, but we’d say in real-world driving you’re more likely to see around 250-260 miles before needing to plug in.

All of our EV Deal of the Day choices are chosen from the providers on our parent site Carwow. Our experts choose the best deals on cars we’re happy to recommend.
