EV Deal of the Day: comfy Citroen e-C4 for only £219 per month

Great looks and decent comfort make the Citroen e-C4 worthy of consideration, especially at this appealing low price

Citroen e-C4 - front tracking
  • Comfortable and refined
  • Striking exterior design
  • Good equipment levels

The current Citroen C4 is blessed with dashing good looks and just enough French flair to hold its own in a busy family car market. Its coupé-SUV design certainly captures attention, while the interior - although not offering the last word in quality or luxury - focuses on providing good levels of comfort and decent onboard technology.

This two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) deal from Xcite Car Leasing, through our parent site Carwow, requires an initial payment of £2,893.97, followed by monthly instalments of £218.66 - although you will need to make sure that the 5,000-mile annual limit that comes as part of the deal sufficiently meets your needs.

With this particular e-C4 model coming in top-of-the-range e-series specification, you’ll certainly not be short of kit. The exterior design adopts a stealthy look in this trim, with 18-inch black alloys, rear privacy glass and a black roof all part of the standard package, while interior highlights include heated front seats trimmed in leather and Alcantara, dual-zone air conditioning, a reversing camera, wireless smartphone charging, and the My Citroen Drive Plus infotainment setup which features a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There's plenty of space for the family in the e-C4, with enough legroom both in the front and back to get comfortable - but it’s worth mentioning that the rakish roofline does cut into headroom slightly, to the detriment of taller occupants. Overall practicality is good, however, with useful door bins and lots of cubbies, while there’s a variable-height boot floor to add a little flexibility.

With just 134bhp on offer the e-C4 isn’t going to excite keen drivers; it manages the 0-62mph sprint in 10.0 seconds and will go on to hit a maximum speed of 93 mph. But that would be missing the point of the e-C4; if you’re after a well-equipped electric family car that majors on comfort and won’t break the bank, then it’s well worth considering.
