EV Deal of the Day: uber-practical Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer for £262 a month

Offering plenty of space, comfort and refinement, the VW ID.7 Tourer is a fine family EV

  • Good range
  • Huge boot
  • Comfortable

When Volkswagen introduced its ID.7 saloon back in 2023 we thought it was the German brand’s best electric car to date. Fast forward a year, and the range was boosted by the addition of the Tourer estate version, adding even more practicality to go with the already impressive levels of comfort, refinement and safety technology. If you’re after an accomplished, all-electric family car, then the ID.7 Tourer has a broader skillset than most other rivals.

This two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) deal is from Milease Leasing through Carwow, requiring an initial deposit of £3,408.72, followed by monthly payments of £261.56. Be sure to check that the 5,000-mile annual restriction is sufficient to meet your needs, otherwise you may have to pay extra to cover any excess mileage charges at the end of the deal.

Offered in entry Pro Match specification, this particular model includes a huge amount of standard equipment. Large 19-inch alloys, rear privacy glass and some gloss black exterior trim add a sporty flavour, while there’s also automatic LED-matrix headlights, an automatic tailgate and keyless entry. VW hasn’t scrimped in terms of onboard technology either, with an augmented-reality head-up display and a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen with integrated navigation.

A 77kWh battery and single electric motor provide a total power output of 282bhp, which provides the ID.7 Tourer with a decent turn of pace. The 0-62mph sprint is taken care of in 6.6 seconds, while VW claims a maximum range of 373 miles - although in real-world driving you’ll probably be looking at closer to 300 miles before needing to recharge.

However, there’s no getting away from the Tourer's party piece, which is its impressive practicality and vast interior space. There’s plenty of room for taller occupants to get comfortable (both up front and in the rear seats), while its huge 605-litre boot is great for dealing with the rigors of family life.

Rounding off an impressive package is the Tourer’s raft of active safety systems. All versions feature autonomous emergency braking (AEB) to help mitigate or prevent low-speed collisions with other vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, while there’s also adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assistance.
