EV Deal of the Day: budget-friendly Ford Capri for just £234 a month

Low personal leasing rates for the all-electric Ford Capri mean that the smooth-riding SUV is currently a bit of a steal

  • Impressive interior
  • Smooth powertrains
  • Good refinement

We actually covered a Ford Capri leasing deal a few weeks ago, and thought the two-year offer represented great value for money. But there’s more good news for buyers, because the Blue Oval’s all-electric, family cruiser is now even cheaper than before.

Carparison Leasing, through Carwow, is advertising another two-year PCH (Personal Contract Hire) deal, this time requiring an initial payment of £3,107.76 (a reduction of £160 compared with the previous finance agreement), followed by cheaper monthly instalments of £234.08. Again, there’s a 5,000-mile annual limit, which should be enough to cover most day-to-day journeys, although it’s important to be sure that this will meet your motoring needs, otherwise you might have to pay excess-mileage charges.

The Capri may not be the most engaging SUV to drive, but its strong straight-line performance is likely to satisfy the priorities of many mainstream buyers. Coupled with a stylish and roomy interior plus a comprehensive suite of onboard technology, it’s definitely worthy of your consideration. However, its overall visual appeal is a more personal judgment.

Packed with premium features, the Capri Select offers a high-tech and comfortable driving experience. Highlights include keyless entry and start, luxurious heated front seats with electric adjustment and a driver’s massage function, wireless smartphone charging, and a large 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The rear-wheel-drive Capri offers a substantial 389-mile all-electric range from its 77kWh battery, making longer journeys easily manageable, while its 282bhp electric motor provides brisk performance, achieving 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds.

For added peace of mind, the Capri is equipped with advanced safety systems such as a Lane Keeping Aid, Traffic Sign Recognition, and a Wrong Way Alert, all of which helped contribute towards its impressive five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
