With CO2 emissions of 112-115g/km depending on trim level (the Premium and Ultimate models get larger, less economical wheels), the Kona Hybrid attracts a Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) company-car tax starting at 27% during the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 financial years. This means 20% taxpayers will see annual bills starting from £1,271 for a Kona Hybrid SE Connect.

Hyundai Kona Hybrid insurance group

Insurance groups for the Kona Hybrid run from 8-9, which is only slightly more than the petrol version of the Kona. This is to be expected given the hybrid's slightly higher list price.

Warranty

The Kona Hybrid is sold with a five-year/unlimited-mileage warranty, like every other car from the South Korean brand. This isn’t quite as impressive as the seven-year/100,000-mile deal that’s offered with the Kia Niro, but it’s still pretty good, especially for higher-mileage drivers.

Servicing

Hyundai recommends servicing the Kona Hybrid every year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Road tax

As a hybrid, the Kona Hybrid is classified as an ‘alternatively fuelled vehicle’ and so qualifies for a small Vehicle Excise Duty (VED, also called road tax) discount. The annual bill is £145, which represents a £10 saving on the non-hybrid rate of £155.
