Skoda Enyaq: reliability & safety rating

Skoda has a mixed reputation for reliability, but the Enyaq's five-star Euro NCAP rating should inspire some confidence

Boasting kit like collision-avoidance assistance, turn assistance and adaptive cruise control, as well as lane-keeping assistance and automatic emergency braking, the Enyaq is loaded to the roof with technology designed to keep you and your family safe.

Plus, given the relative simplicity of the electric powertrain and the fact that so many of the parts are used elsewhere in the VW Group, we can assume reliability should be an Enyaq strong suit.

Skoda Enyaq reliability & problems

The Enyaq is still too new to have featured in any of the mainstream reliability or owner satisfaction surveys. However, while the brand has long had a solid reputation for customer satisfaction and reliability, it could only muster a 20th-place finish out of 32 manufacturers in our 2023 Driver Power survey. Roughly 26% of owners reported faults with their vehicles – above average across the industry – and while this is almost certainly focused at the brand’s petrol-powered fleet, 48% of complaints concerned the electrical systems – not exactly what you want to hear with an EV like the Enyaq.

Safety

The Enyaq was awarded the maximum five-star rating by independent crash-test body Euro NCAP in 2021. It scored an impressive 94% and 89% for adult and child occupant protection respectively. As hinted at above, thanks to the car's long list of safety kit, the Enyaq did well in the Safety Assist category, too, scoring 82%. Those numbers near enough match its Volkswagen ID.4 sister car's efforts.
