14 reasons why electric cars are better than petrol and diesel cars - no road tax

Not convinced an electric car is for you? Here are the 14 reasons why an electric could be your only car

no road tax

There’s no road tax to pay

Not only that, but electric cars make a very shrewd company-car choice, too, thanks to a 13% rating. That makes them cheap now, but such is the way Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax is calculated, they’ll increase a little to 16% in the 2019/20 tax year, before hitting a rock-bottom 2% in 2020/21. That’ll make them almost cheaper than walking!

Regardless of road tax, electricity will still be far cheaper than petrol or diesel. All is revealed on the next page.
