Electric car lease: Ohme and Octopus launch car, tariff and charger bundle

5,000 miles of charging also included in 'all-in-one' finance package

Ohme Home Pro

Smart-charger provider Ohme and Octopus Electric Vehicles are collaborating to offer a new 'all-in-one' leasing package, aimed mainly at motorists making the switch from petrol to electric power.

The bundled package brings together a new electric-car lease, an Ohme Home Pro smart wallbox charger, an Octopus EV-friendly electricity tariff and 5,000 miles of charging under a single monthly payment. Indicative amounts are £464 a month for a Fiat 500 or £479 a month for a Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback.

The 'Intelligent Octopus' tariff bundled with the package gives drivers six hours of cheaper electricity rates every day for charging their EV. The Ohme wallbox can automatically set charging times to align with the tariff, removing the need to manually pre-set charging times yourself.

Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation on the National Grid is at its highest, further lowering CO2 impact.

Commenting on the launch, Octopus Electric Vehicles CEO Fiona Howarth said: "Demand for electric cars is soaring, driven by low running costs and convenient charging at home and work, and we’ve seen that drivers are looking for experts that can offer the full EV package to guide them through their journey.

"With more EV models entering the market every month, and innovative tariffs like Intelligent Octopus making charging your car as easy as your phone, we only expect the transition to accelerate."
