EV Deal of the Day: super-popular Tesla Model Y at only £399 per month

UK EV buyers love a Tesla Model Y and this deal won’t do anything to detract from that…

  • Staggering performance
  • Spacious and practical
  • High-tech cabin

The Tesla Model Y was the UK’s best selling electric car in 2023 and the fifth best selling car of any kind. From this we can deduce that people like them a lot and this new deal from Tesla Leasing, found through our parent site Carwow, is only going to spread the love.

Tesla is offering the base rear-wheel drive Model Y for under £400 per month on a three-year lease. The initial payment on this PCH (Personal Contract Hire) package is a not-unreasonable £3,589 and there’s a healthy 10,000-mile mileage limit. If you’d like to include maintenance, there’s a similar deal on the same car for £447 per month with a £4,020 initial payment which also looks appealing. Because it’s a lease deal, when the time is up, you simply hand the car back to Tesla.

The Model Y is the pacesetting car in the mid-size electric SUV class. Even in this entry-level form it’s got 347bhp, enough for a 0-62mph time of 6.6s and a 135mph top speed. The 56kWh battery contributes to a range of 283 miles and our testing suggests that you can get close to that figure in the real world. Insurance won’t be cheap as the Model Y is in group 46 but otherwise this is a fast, efficient and cost effective car.

Inside you’ll find the brand’s trademark minimalist approach to design. Everything is contained within the 15-inch central touchscreen and although some of the controls are fiddly to find, the resolution of the screen and speed of its responses are top notch. There’s space for five with good head and knee room in the back seats plus a boot that measures at 854 litres, if you count all the space right up to the ceiling.

This may be a base car but it comes well equipped. There are two wireless charging berths, heated seats all round, a heat pump to boost efficiency in cold weather and a panoramic sunroof. 19-inch wheels are the standard selection and there’s also a basic version of Tesla’s Autopilot driver assistance technology.

All of our EV Deal of the Day choices are chosen from the providers on our parent site Carwow. Our experts choose the best deals on cars we’re happy to recommend
