Toyota Corolla Touring Sports running costs
Company-car drivers will welcome the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports' low CO2 emissions; other costs should be reasonable, too
Insurance group | Warranty | Service interval | 2021/22 company-car tax cost (20%/40%) |
---|---|---|---|
15-21 | 5yrs / 100,000 miles | 1yr / 10,000 miles | From £1,226 / £2,453 |
The Corolla Touring Sports won't be an expensive car to run by most standards – although depending on exactly what mileage and type of driving you do, a plug-in hybrid like the Kia Niro PHEV could be even cheaper day-to-day. A diesel estate like a Volkswagen Golf or Ford Focus may also make more financial sense for long-distance motorway drivers.
Toyota Corolla Touring Sports Hybrid insurance group
Confirmed UK insurance ratings for the Corolla Touring Sports Hybrid range from 15 for the 1.8-litre model to 21 for the more powerful 2.0-litre.
Warranty
Toyota sells all its passenger cars in the UK with a 100,000-mile/five-year warranty, giving buyers exceptional peace of mind. Depending on your anticipated mileage and how long you expect to hold on to your car, only Hyundai's (five years with no limit) and Kia's (seven years/100,000 miles) are better.
In June 2021, Toyota introduced an extension to its warranty offering, called 'Toyota Relax'. This means you can continue extending your Toyota's warranty cover up to 10 years or 100,000 miles, simply by getting it serviced on time at an official Toyota dealer each year.
Servicing
Toyota hasn't yet confirmed exact service prices for the Corolla Touring Sports, but they'll probably be not far off what you pay for an Auris: £185 for an 'Intermediate' service, £335 for a 'Full' service and £395 for a 'Full Plus'.
Road tax
As a hybrid, the Corolla Touring Sports will cost £145 a year to tax – down from £155 for a regular petrol or diesel car.
