Vauxhall Mokka Electric review: boot space, seating & practicality

The Mokka Electric isn’t quite as spacious as rivals, but should be sufficient for small families

In terms of practicality, the Mokka Electric is exactly what you’d expect from a car in this class. While not as roomy or as practical as a larger electric SUV, it should suit small families well. The boot is slightly smaller than a petrol or diesel Mokka due to the presence of the battery, but it is larger than the Corsa Electric's and you’ll still be able to fit plenty in.

Vauxhall Mokka Electric interior space, storage & comfort

In the back, there’s plenty of headroom for adult passengers, but kneeroom isn’t all that generous. Unfortunately, unlike some built-for-purpose electric cars such as the Renault Megane E-Tech, the Mokka’s rear floor isn’t flat either, meaning sitting three abreast can be a really tight squeeze.

There's storage under the boot floor as well for your charging cables, though, so they won’t take up boot space. Plus, Vauxhall has fitted the Mokka Electric with two cupholders in the centre console and sizeable door bins all round.

Boot space

If you’re looking at a small SUV for your next car, it’s likely because you want some more room than you get in a typical supermini. Thankfully, despite what you might think when you see the Mokka Electric’s stylish roofline, there are 310 litres of boot space on offer. Yes, that's smaller than a petrol-engined Mokka, but still beats the Corsa Electric's 267-litre capacity.

However, you’ll find more boot space in some of the Mokka Electric’s main rivals, such as the Mazda MX-30 (366 litres) or Kia Niro EV (475 litres), as well as its French sibling the Peugeot e-2008 (434 litres).
