Ford Kuga Hybrid practicality & boot space

With plenty of interior space and lots of room in the boot, the Kuga is as practical as ever, even with the hybrid powertrain under the bonnet

The full-hybrid variant of the Kuga SUV doesn’t demand the same level of practicality sacrifices as the plug-in model. There’s enough space inside and up to 526 litres of boot capacity when all seats are in place, although that does also depend on where the sliding rear bench is set.

Ford Kuga Hybrid interior space, storage & comfort

The Kuga isn't available as a seven-seater like the larger and more expensive Kia Sorento is, but it remains an extremely practical SUV with enough space for three adults to stretch out in the rear. The high roofline also means headroom is also generous.

The door bins are a decent size and there’s a handy cubby ahead of the gearlever with a wireless phone charging pad (which comes as standard on all Kuga models). The central cubby has a neat shelf built into it, which is useful for keeping your keys or wallet, but we’d prefer if it was a little wider or deeper – there’s no room for a large water bottle, which is a shame.

Boot space

With 526 litres of boot space on offer with all seats in place (depending on how far forward the sliding rear bench is), there's a generous amount of room for all your family’s stuff. Plus, there’s up to 1,534 litres of space with all the seats folded down; that's more load capacity than a Kia Niro, but slightly less than a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
