Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo running costs & insurance
Like many of the most expensive electric cars, the Taycan Cross Turismo will be costly to insure, but otherwise running costs are reasonable
Insurance group | Warranty | Service interval | Annual company-car tax (20%/40%) |
---|---|---|---|
50 | 3yrs/unlimited mileage | 2yrs/20,000 miles | From £353 / £706 |
Like many high-performance cars, especially electric ones, the Taycan Cross Turismo has a very high insurance rating. Other running costs are low, however – especially if you mostly recharge at home. And if you're able to run a Taycan Cross Turismo as a company vehicle, the news is even better, with just a 2% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax rating applying for the foreseeable future.
Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo insurance group
Unsurprisingly for an electric car with pricing ranging from a little over £88,000 all the way up to almost £150,000, the Taycan Cross Turismo sits in the very highest insurance bracket (group 50). Many of the Cross Turismo’s direct rivals attract the same rating, though.
Warranty
The Porsche Taycan is sold with a three-year/unlimited-mileage warranty as standard, while the battery is covered by a separate, eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Servicing
The main service for the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is due every two years or 20,000 miles, which is the same as the regular Taycan and the plug-in hybrid Panamera Sport Turismo estate. Overall, the Cross Turismo is almost certainly going to be cheaper to maintain in the long run than a comparable high-performance petrol-powered estate from Audi or Mercedes.
Road tax
As an electric car, the Taycan Cross Turismo doesn’t incur any road tax (VED) right now, and will be exempt from the London Congestion Charge until 2025.
