Renault Megane Sport Tourer E-TECH hybrid (2020-2022) running costs, insurance, warranty & tax
Running costs are par for the plug-in hybrid course with the Megane hybrid estate, and as always, it's company car users who stand to benefit most
Insurance group | Warranty | Service interval | 2021/22 company-car tax cost (20%/40%) |
---|---|---|---|
22 | 5yrs/100,000 miles | 1yr/18,000 miles | From £681/£1,361 |
The Renault Megane E-TECH hybrid has the potential for extremely low running costs, as long as you’re able to charge up at home. A diesel Megane is more efficient on the motorway, but if you have a short commute or spend lots of time around town, then the plug-in model is superior.
Renault Megane Sport Tourer hybrid insurance group
The Megane E-TECH sits in insurance group 22, as it’s one of the more expensive models in the range and performance is reasonable, as 0-62mph takes just under 10 seconds.
Warranty
All Renault cars get a five-year/100,000-mile warranty, which is above average. Many other brands only offer three years of cover, so it’s good to see that Renault is confident in its cars’ reliability past a typical ownership period.
Servicing
The service intervals for the Megane E-TECH are the same as for all other models in the line-up: every year or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Road tax
As the Megane is a hybrid and didn't cost more than £40,000 new, it costs £155 a year to tax.
